"Nintendo announced this morning that its anticipated new adventure game, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, has been delayed. The title, formerly scheduled to debut this November around the world, has since been postponed to 2006 so that the developer can continue to make the game better.

"After much discussion, the Zelda development team has requested extra time to add new levels, more depth and even higher quality to Zelda: Twilight Princess," said Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan. "Consequently, we're announcing a new global launch in 2006, after the conclusion of this fiscal year (March 31). We'll provide a specific date at a later point in time. While this may come as a disappointment to many eager fans, it will absolutely enrich the game and make it a multi-million seller."

Twilight Princess, developed by Nintendo and directed by Majora's Mask overseer Eiji Aonuma, was previously set to be the company's big holiday game. In fact, analysts expected the game to be Nintendo's single greatest deterrent to consumers potentially interested in Microsoft's next-generation console, Xbox 360, which is set for a November launch. The delay leaves Nintendo without a major holiday release on GameCube."

And there you have it, I am very sad, yet happy that it is being enlarged.

    :(

At least the delay is so they can make it better, not because there's some major flaw or something.

Well we shall see Resident Evil 4 was to be delayed and then it end up not being delayed, so maybe the same thing may happen?

Im starting to wonder about why the game would be delayed, i forgot until today...nintendo recently held a draw to give away the first 25 copies of TP. The winners were announced yesterday, and they need to claim their prize within 14 days, so the game can't have too many things to fix if the game has been released to some people as it is

Just thought the fans would like to know,

On SpikeTV's Game Head program this morning, Nintendo of America's head of marketing Reggie Fils-Aime told host Geoff Keighley that the long awaited Gamecube title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess would be released "this fall", meaning that the game will be released about a year after it's original announced release date of fall 2005. File-Amie also said that the game would be a Gamecube title and that there were still no plans to turn it into a game for Nintendo's next-gen Revolution console.

Many of the people who have pre-ordered the game have gotten e-mails notifying them of this. To tell you the truth i'm getting very mad about all this. They don't give us facts. the official nintendo forums have been abuzz about this next delay for weeks and there has been many things saying thats its being delayed again. Then some NOA's even have denied a delay. I dunno what to believe anymore. I just want solid facts.

Hey if it makes the game better, and puts more care into it, let em do it. :) I loved OOT, and if this one outdoes it, or measures up in any way it will be worth the wait.

Have access to it now and then. It's my brother's but I think its at school with him. In any event, I plan to get one of my own for the twin snakes that I never got to play. And I'd definately get Zelda.

Well I agree that if the delay helps it even measure up to OoT then I will wait. Although I did hear that it will be released april (2006) something.

You know, its not that the game is delayed that makes me mad. Its that Nintendo claimed it would come out in November 2005 I got all hyped then they claimed it would be released in April 2006. Thats coming up and i was getting all hyped again. NOW THEY DELAY IT AGAIN!?!?!?!?! See I wouldn't care if they originally said it would be released in October-November 2006. My problem is that they claim it to be released at a certain point then suddenly change their minds? Its getting very ridiculous

The guy at EB games told me that one of the reasons it was pushed back is because they are making twilight princess compatable withe the new nintendo revolution controller...
