What people? No one comes to talk to us that hasn't read the series.
So we must go and spread the word of the good book and take the name of THE GRRM to all the heathens and pagans! Enlighten them using reason and knowledge and if that fails a really big stick. You know walk softly and carry a big stick?
lol, Yes, High Septon. We shall be your Sparrows.
Actually I believe LSD is the High Septon I'll just be one of her "higher" up helpers. LOL.
I tried converting a friend and she nearly agreed to read the books but got put off when I warned her about adult stuff in there
Awwww... I need to try converting a couple of my teachers.
Well then get to it.
My uncle read the first 50 or so pages of AGoT so far. The fact that he's not utterly obsessed with it yet really made me angry until I remember the first 50 pages are pretty droll.
One of my teachers want to read it Soon, soon.... :devilbat:
Droll? I don't remember the first 50 pages of GoT being all that amusing...
um either I'm confused about what you're talkin about or u don't know the definition of Droll. could be either.
Lol...Maybe a bit of both...
droll ( P ) Pronunciation Key (drl)
adj. droll·er, droll·est
Amusingly odd or whimsically comical
Ok, so I was wrong. Maybe I was thinking 'drab'? Who knows. Anyway, the point is - it's boring at first.
Or you don't know the definition of droll.
And how is it boring? That part where the Other reanimates the corpse is totally kickass.
I don't know because I haven't read the first 50 pages in a very long time, but I just remember thinking to myself, "Ok, who the hell are all these characters? This sucks." Obviously I got over that to become the obsessed ASoIaF you see before you. But isn't the beginning just about Robert coming to Winterfell?
Mostly, yeah. But the prologue is totally kickass.
The Others going ape on whiny little lordling is awesome. the rest is written really well but it is a bit boring. Nothing like JRRTolkiens lapses into the land of nothingness tho.
Yes but he got as exciting as watching paint dry in many parts.
Needed someone with a stick to poke him occasionally and tell him to get on with it.
