I just got a quick question, when will we be able to pre-order the belt for the scabbard?
We are set up to pre-order the scabbard Belt set now.
We will begin shipping these belt sets this Fall, to coincide with the release of the scabbard that the belt is made to fit. These belts are handcrafted to meet demand. Please expect a delay of approximately two weeks between the date of your order and the date that your belt is shipped (after the scabbard release).
wow, thats costly, 200 dollars
Well, look at all that stuff you get with it. I still think it's a little high for me to get, but it's not an outrageous price.
Good work, Larry.
I don't suppose its a typo?
We are also going to drop the price of the Ranger belt to $160.00
that is the best we can do on that item.
So it's going to be $160.00 for the Ranger Scabbard Belt W/sharpening stone & Utility Pouch and $95.00 for the bracers
WOW THAT is NICE!
I have a question, is the "sharpening stone" real?
if so isnt that sorta a bad idea.......... people will be ruining their ranger swords.
the Prop stone used in the movie was a polyuethane mock up of a stone.
yea, you don't want people ruining the ranger or any other
Yes they are real. We send a flyer with the belt explaning that we do not recommend them using the sharpening stone on the swords and that it is strictly for decorative purposes only. Also we tell them that if they want the blade sharpened to take it to a professional that will do it correctly without damage to them or the blade.
Good idea, Larry. Avoiding law suits is always a good thing.
Swordsman I must offer my compliments on the accuracy of the Ranger belt, after watching it in super-slow-mo on the TTT DVD. You've got the design just perfect, with the tracks and diamonds and belt holes in the circles that make the eye of the diamonds.
How did you put that design on the belt, by hand with stamps or with a belt roller/stamper?
At any rate it's real nice, too bad I won't be able to buy one since the rest of the Aragorn kit won't be ready by Halloween!
We had templates madefor the embossser to click out the patterns repetivly the entire length of the belt. We are now changing to a roller embosser for better results and uniformity. Thanks for the compliments, it is appreciated. They are selling very well by the way. We are takiing pre-orders for then now but we will not release them until United Cutlery releases the scabbard.
We have to wait to make certain that our scabbard rigging will match the scabbards from United Cutlery perfectly. We are uncertain at this point if the scabbard will have the buckles on the scabbard and will just be a matter of matching them , or if we will have to make additional rigging to hold the scabbard, either way it is a minor thing and can be changed in a matter of minutes so we can send them to the customers once the Ranger scabbard is released.
And I am submitting a demo or rough draft for our Legolas bracers next week. Should be out in a coule of months.
Yeah I was wondering about the buckles also, but you can't tell until we see the scabbard, hopefully before the Premiere/Christmas. One other question I had on the belt-- IF Gud Daedheloth does come with a sheath, will any provisions be made for attaching it to the belt? Or can we safely assume that the sheath would have some sort of belt loop on it, just like Sting did?
well in order for us to accomadate the sheath, if they make one, we would have to see the sheath of course before we coluld make the rigging for it. But that wouldn't be to difficult.
I guess we will just have to see what it looks like if they release one for it.
Here's a pic of the sheath. It looks like there may be some kind of loop or attatching device on there.
OK, I just watched the scene in TTT when Aragorn is getting suited up for Helm's Deep. It looks like he has a frog or strap of some kind to hold Gûd Daedheloth's sheath. Could someone cap this image?
aragorn sorta wears it like a scimitar so i assume it would have some mounting ON the scabbard, a rigging for that would be no problem.
The cool thing about aragorns outfit is it doesnt really match. Everything is peiced together and are all artifacts that represent his travels.
When i was assembling my Ranger costume, i was , to begin with, trying to get everything to match and whatnot, then i remember how aragorns costume was sorta random, when i realized that, everything just came together and worked. this random uniformity, if that makes sense,
yes, you get a great look in FOTR EE
