Ok so here we are....still no has decided to join but I'm gonna do this to make myself feel better.

If you want to know anything about anime/manga and be involved in major discussions for most manga/anime rings, these are the anime's and manga's you should atleast try and get some off.

    Anime:
    Neon Genesis Evangelion
    Love Hina
    Naruto
    Ah! Megami-sama

    Manga:
    Chobits
    School Rumble
    Lilim's Kiss
    Air Gear
    Love Hina
    Tenjo Tenge

There are some other's but those are some of the most famous one's, and ofc some of the best (although Naruto at the moment is considered 50-50, since a lot of people hate it)

I myself have not seen Ah! Megami-sama, but I'm trying to get it. So yea

When I get or hear of some more, I'll try and recommend some more manga/anime that is good :p

Oh no, I've not seen/read that much, but I'll just post here anyways.

    Anime I've seen

    Gundam Seed- Quite good
    Argento Soma- Awesome!
    Gundam Wing- Good
One Piece- Not very good, pretty confusing actually
    Inuyasha- Alright
    Rurouni Kenshin- Pretty interesting

    Manga I've read

Fushuugi Yugi (or something like that)- Some parts of the books were really good, but the silly romance thingy spoiled it
Absolute Boyfriend (WARNING: ADULT SCENES)- Only read this stuff if you're feeling stupid
Magister Sensei Negi- Quite good in terms of plot, but unnecessary explicit scenes
    Love for Venus-Oookay...
    Love Hina- Really good!

the fact that no one here has seen Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid makes me said, it's really good as was the first FMP, and FMP:Fuumofu was hilarious.

I don't read much manga, but I do wacth a lot of Anime, i've seen:

    Gundam Wing
    Gundam SEED
    Gundam SEED: Destiny
    Naruto
    Samurai Champloo
    Rurouni Kenshin
    Neon Genisis Evangelion
    Trigun
    Inuyahsa
    Full Metal Panic
Full Metal Panic The Second Raid
    Full Metal Panic Fuumofu
    Shamen King
    DB/DBZ/DBGT

I thought Inuyasha was okay the same with DBZ and DBGT

The rest were all great shows. The classic DB is one of my favorites.

Beet the Vandel Buster - Action/comedy - A bit childish, but good fun to read when bored

It was pretty good, yeah. Personally my fave was the one on like a month ago with Col. Mustang and his staff. Sooo funny!

Yeah, so I thought I'd finally chime in and join the fun.

Stuff I've seen (in part or in whole-mostly in part):

Aa! Megami-sama-only a couple of totally random episodes. It's cute, though.
Azumanga Daioh-addictive. I have yet to watch the last six episodes (they are sitting on my desk), but I like what I've seen.
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad-only the first episode, not really enought to form a concrete opinion. It seemed like it would be ok, though.
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo-o_O it's better just to not ask. You kind of have to be in the right mood for it. VERY random.
Castle in the Sky-It's Miyazaki. Need I say more? AMAZING.
Cowboy Bebop-sooo good! I watched the entire run in three days. If you haven't seen it, you have to have been trying. Hie thee to Adult Swim! Saturday night. You've only missed two episodes. go. NOW. The movie is good too.
D.N.Angel-it's okay. I missed most of the first half, which from what I've heard is a good thing because the second half is better, but its not generally my taste.
Various incarnations of Dragonball-I hate it. There is too much of it, its unoriginal, and horribly animated. I would recommend that you avoid it.
Evangelion-Again, I haven't seen all of it, but its good so far.
Excel Saga-Only one episode, but I liked the built in snark. And I think the purpose of the dog is funny.
Fruits Basket-Only one episode. Not really my taste.
Fullmetal Alchemist-I love it. It can be a little heavyhanded sometimes, but it is still very good. On a side note, I think me sister plans to grow her hair like Ed's. Although I believe she wanted to before she saw FMA.
Gantz-NOT for those under the age of eighteen. The first two episode kind of suck, but once it gets into the mental part of the story, it gets good. I don't like all of the pointless nudity and the gore could be animated better (I'm talking blood spurts that prompted shouts of "tis but a flesh wound!" at my school's anime club) but the story is good. It makes you want to watch more.
Ghost in the Shell-the entire franchise is AMAZING. I love it. Also, if you are looking for some good OSTs, look no further. SAC is scored by Yoko Kanno, who is amazing in everything she does, but the music from the movies is just as good.
Gilgamesh-Only the first episode, but I desperately want to see more.
Howl's Moving Castle-Miyazaki. I also love the book it's based on (loosely)
IGPX-the current season. I usually don't like Mecha stuff, but I find myself liking this. The animation is beautiful.
Inuyasha-I must be the only anime-loving girl in the country that hates Inuyasha. It goes on far too long and I don't like Rumiko Takahashi's style of drawing.
Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu-random but cute. I love sarcastic Guu.
Kaleido Star-only one episode in the middle, so I didn't really know what was going on.
Kare Kano-only one episode. Not impressed.
Kiki's Delivery Service-Miyazaki. Not as good as his other stuff, but still cute.
    Metropolis-very good. highly recommended
    Mononoke Hime-Miyazaki.
Naruto-only a couple of episodes. Take it or leave it, I don't really care either way.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind-Miyazaki. A classic.
One Piece-Don't like it, although others that like it have said they don't blame me because the American dub sucks royally. I'm a sub fan, so a bad dub can completely ruin a show for me.
Paranoia Agent-Another one of my favorites. You have to watch all of it before it makes much sense, but trust me and stick it out, you won't be disappointed. Also has a really good OST.
Peacemaker Kurogane-only a couple of episodes, but there is potential.
Pokemon-I hang my head in shame and blame my sister for the whole thing.
Princess Tutu-surprisingly good. Magical girl, but how can you not love the fact that she's actually a duck?
    Rurouni Kenshin-random episodes. Not bad.
    s-CRY-ed-not my taste
Sailor Moon-I used to watch this back when it was the anime on. I haven't watched it in years.
Samurai Champloo-very good. More good music.
Scrapped Princess-Only the first few episodes. Take it or leave it.
Sister Princess-only the first few episodes. kind of WTF.
    Spirited Away-Miyazaki
    Voltron-Mecha, not my taste
Wandaba Style-only one episode. Take it or leave it.
    Zatch Bell-not my taste

    Manga:

    Ah! Megami Sama-cute
Absolute Boyfriend-Yuu Watase-brain candy, pretty guys
    Alice 19th-Yuu Watase
Alichino-one of my favorites. Beautiful artwork, if you are into that style. I'm planning on cosplaying Enju at ACen in May.
Baby & Me-take it or leave it
Ceres: Celestial Legend-Yuu Watase, but more serious. Only a couple of volumes, I want to read more.
    Crimson Hero-not my taste
    Darkside Blues-highly recommended, very good.
Evangelion: Angelic Days-. . .interesting. Its a rewrite of the original, and very different.
Fullmetal Alchemist-just as good as the show. Alot of the art reminds me of my sister's style.
    Fushigi Yugi-Yuu Watase
    Godchild-pretty good, I like it.
Lagoon Engine Einsatz-Take it or leave it
    Mars-pretty boys, not my taste.
    NANA-not bad
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind-very good, I prefer it to the anime.
Peach Girl-pretty boys, not my taste.
    Planetes-very good, I recommend it.
Princess Prince-very cute, I wish there was more though.
Ragnarok-I'm not sure why I got into this one. It's OK.
Rumic Theater-I picked it up randomly at the library. I still don't really like Rumiko Takahashi.
    Sgt. Frog-cute, not bad.
Yotsuba&!-FABULOUS. It's by the same person as Azumanga Daioh. SOO FUNNY!

I may have missed something, but I don't think so. I've seen alot more than I thought!

heh, I went on ANN and just went through alphabetically.

The only stuff I own is some random Miyazaki, the first volume of SAC, and the original GITS. Bebop and AzuDai I borrowed from a friend who lives on my floor. The next addition will probably be Howl, when it comes out. Manga-wise, I have most of Nausicaa, Darkside Blues, all that exists of Alichino thus far, the first Fushigi Yugi, the first half of Alice 19th, and the first four Ragnarok. Yotsuba WILL be joining. As for OSTs. . .:sheepish: I own more of them than I do anime. I've got both the GITS movies, the first two SAC OSTs plus Be Human, which isn't officially an OST but should be, Paranoia Agent, Champloo, and FLCL: King of Pirates (I lifted that from my sister, I've never seen the show).

I mostly read manga, because it's easier to get my hands on - I don't download stuff from the Internet, so what I've got I've bought - pretty expensive in the long run, but well ;o) somethings gotta be the ruin of me...

Here is the manga that I collect:

Demon Diary - absolutely adorable! (published every second month)
D*N*Angel - very very (!) confusing, but beautifuly drawn. (has been on a halt for half a year or more, but should be continuing this spring)
I.N.V.U. - funny and quite good! (published every second month)
Love Hina - so many others have mentioned it (although mostly as anime), so I'll just leave it at that... (published every month)
(The Devil) Ororon - one of the best of the bunch! So far, they've only published the first one here in Denmark, so I'm looking forward to the ones following. (every second month)
Ranma½ - really good and humorous, althogh it starts to be a bit 'old' (it is by all the 26'th number out of 34 I've gotten to). Published every month.
Samurai Deeper Kyo - pretty good, I like the plot ;o) Published every second month.
Shaman King - the same as above. They are not the best of them all, but still good enough to be spending my money on! (every second month)
Tokyo Mew Mew and Tokyo Mew Mew ala Mode - really cute series, very 'fluffy' and girly *gigles*. (finished)
Vampire Game - lovely and very beautiful drawn. Definitely worth reading. (published every second month)
Warcraft - the Sunwell Triology - this one is probably THE best of the bunch. Especially when it comes to the drawings - it's simply breathtaking! (not translated to danish yet, so I buy them over the Internet when they are published)
Yu-Gi-Oh! - okay series in the start, but got borring, which is why I stoped bying them (quite logically), so I have the first 12 of them.

    Other magazines worth mentioning:
W.I.T.C.H - I totally love this series and loyaly buy them each and every month along with extra magazines, books and the like (I'm almost addicted)!
and Disney's Fairies which I definitely will start collecting the moment the first number appears in the shops!

(By the way, I am reading my manga in danish, because it's cheaper buying them in the stores than over the Internet.)

Let me see, the anime I have is as follows:

Dragon Half - cute little movie. Only too bad it's so short...
Hellsing - not Van Helsing (as everyone seems to think in real life). The best ever anime I've seen! Nothing can overrule it.
Spirited Away (Chihiro og heksene) - adorable and thoughtful, I really like this one despite that it could have been better drawn.
Street Fighter II - a movie I bought 'just because'. It's not my favourite genre, but it's okay still.
Vampire Princess Miyu - really good! I think I have a crush on Larva...
Winx Club - cute childrens series... (not sure if you would call it anime or not, though)
X - have I just bought, so I have no idea wether it is good or not. Think it is ;o)

Besides that, I've only seen a little. Nothing that I can remember the name of, although some of it really was extraordinary. (I participated in J-popcorn this year - a con for manga and anime fanatics and fans ;o) And of course they had 72 hour anime marathon in five different mini cinemas, so I've seen quite a lot of 'first episodes'.)

I have seen everything on the list. The stuff in the second post is the stuff I OWN. And if you'll notice, FLCL isn't on my list.

What makes you think Spirited Away is badly drawn? I'm just curious, because Hayao Miyazaki is pretty much universally recognised as a god in the anime world. His style is a little different, but thats all.

I don't know exactly 'why', I just doesn't find his style beautiful. I guess it is a matter of tastes... He draws very square, if one can say so, and not very elegantly.
But the story is good and it's still worth seing despite of the style ;o)

It his characters. Their noses are too weird, and they are generally quite rotund. I prefer the styles more specifically like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Love Hina, with the characters being more distinctive to the anime style.

Maybe its because they look to realish and less anime like? if you know what I mean. They kinda loose the essence of an anime/manga styled drawing, and lean closer towards a normal cartoon.

btw, Vanaiel...is Tokyo Mew Mew any good. I don't like reading random Shoujo manga lol.
