    think i did my opinion clear in the thread discussing the film lol:p... but i kinda like the book... please don't hang me for it!!:D

    I never touched it because it seemed too childish for my tastes, but I'm definitely going to have to read it for myself to make a decision on whether it's good or bad.

    From what i know he had like 14 years (or somenthing) when he wrote it... which really isn't bad for someone his age....

    Anyway, the book sucks... it's not written badly, but it has like 0% originality...

    Wow, there are people like me, I freaking hate Eragon.

    And I agree with you Blackness, the writing was nice..but it's been done before.I simply hated the story in general, I have the book but haven't got past page 200 yet..=P.

    To be fair, Eragon was written by a 15 year old who had read stuff like LOTR and Star Wars and obviously he was heavily influenced by them and that was clear in his story. I think it's enjoyable to read for some flat, stereotypical fantasy fiction but I wouldn't say it was amazing and that I could talk about it the same way I could a series of books like The Malazan Book of the Fallen.

    The movie on the other hand... sucked so bad.
