it looks gondorian to me, judging by the cross hilt. But it looks like no one else's that i ve heard of. It also bears a resemblence to the wraith sword, so that looks like a possibility as well. I'd say some to do with Gondor, personally though i can't imagine who.

The sword is Gandalf's. Look for it mounted on his horse early in the first movie.

He is said to have had some forsight of something happening, that's why he didn't take Glamdring with him. If he had taken Glamdring with him he would have lost that instead of our mistery sword here and thus probably would not have been able to defeat the balrog. To defeat the balrog you would have to be a maia (which Gandalf is) and have an equally powerfull weapon. I doubt there were many swords like Glamdring left in ME.

Well, looking at the sword, its not Gandalf's riding sword. The crossguard isnt right. His is curved, this ones straight then a it curves up a lil at the end. so its prolly not that sword

well, considering the length of time he was present on middle-earth, he was bound to gain an unpopular reputation with someone before the events of The Hobbit (when he found Turgon's old sword), so he would have to fight them off with something. i dont think that old stick would be too effective in close-range (or face-to-face would probably be a better term here) combat.

    re: eruviluieth

its definitely not the ranger sword of Strider, as that one is in the far-left case.

I do remember one scene where faramir uses a sword similar to this one. It was when he learned from gollum about the ring. while approaching frodo, i could swear the sword he drew had a hand guard just like this one.

I have the same problem, when I try to take a screenshot I can past in paintshop for example, but what I get is only there if the player is on. And if I move the player, then the picture in paintshop moves too, it's like it's a window to the player instead of a screencap.

on the contrary, I think I smell pretty good. I can't really place the scent, though. Maybe it's victory?

Excuse me. I do believe this is a Weapons and Armour forum not a how do I smell forum. Stick to the threads topics or get warned. If you cannot stick to the topics goto the spam area. I won't say it anymore.
