Is anybody else out there making a costume to go see ROTK in? My friends and I are having a party that morining then going in our costumes to go see ROTK the only thing we can't wear ara our swords and archery equipment. I was just wondering if anyone else was doing the same. Oh and are you making the costume yourself from fabric, or just buying one from a place like arms of valour. I am doing a kind of both, I am making my cloak from a swiss army blanket, it is nearly the exact same color as the Lorien cloaks and it is lite thin and warm. My pants and inside long sleeved shirt is from walmart but not the kind of stuff you see everyday. I will make the outside vest sleeveless shirt too, well I should'nt say I, more like me and a friend.

I'm hoping to go as Aragorn (Helm's Deep). I've already got boots, belt, and bracers (just plain ones, but I'm planning to get another pair and tool the Gondorian design on).

My local cinema allowed my re-enacting group to take swords to the movies, as long as they were in sheaths or scabbards. If you've got somethign you can use to cover your blade, maybe ask the cinema if they'd allow that?

I am going dressed up. I am in the SCA and some of us are dreesing and going. I did the same last year with SCA friends in NY, they were in the newspaper. The guys had the weapons on too, but sheathed.

i`m making aragorns helms deep costume, too. i`m far away from finishing it, but i want to make (almost) everything myself, so it`ll take a while.

im not going dressed up, because i dont think i`ve finished the whole costume and its totally impossible to take any weapons to the cinema in germany ... :(

gud, how do you want to "tool" the gondorian design on the bracers, im trying it in vain for months now, and i have no ideas any more ....

I'm definitely going in costume!!! (And maybe even a different costume each time I see ROTK! hee hee. I'm a huge lotr fan, can't you tell?)
Anyway, I'm currently making Arwen's mourning gown (from TTT) to wear to the midnight premiere, and I'm working with my sister on a Dernhelm costume for her. The others coming with us will *probably* be ringwraiths, aragorn, frodo.... but there's one person we just can't convince to dress up! Grrr... we told her she *has* to, or else.... Lol. :devilbat:

    Well...

I don't know about ROTK, but I'm going to go see The Matrix Revolutions tonight, and I'm seriously considering wearing my Neo costume.

I really am quite proud of it, especially because I was mostly able to build it from my wardrobe- black pants and shirt, as well as black socks and shoes. The sunglasses I got from www.matrixsunglasses.com, a very nice site.

But my favorite part is the cassock, which makes this not Neo's original Matrix costume, but rather his Reloaded/Revolutions costume. I got it from a Catholic suppy store, and it's just the best finishing touch imaginable. I really do feel like The One in it.

Now, for ROTK, I don't have as much time as I'd like to put something together. However, I am going to a fairly big Renaissance Fair over the weekend. I might find some things I could use there.

I'm doing it in my art class, so my teacher's going to show me how. Once I get it done, though, I'll help you all I can.

I went to see Revolutions last night, and I went as an agent. I was at Goodwill after school (b/c my friend's having a costume party tonight, and I needed a ranger-ish shirt), and I saw a suit. I was like "hmm... I could be an agent." I got a suit and pants there for less than $. I also wore my Scooby-Doo tie, since I didn't have any black ones, and it actually looked okay! I had a cord running into my ear too. I got a few weird looks, but it was great, especially when my friend saw me there. I was kinda surprised no one else was dressed up, but it wasn't opening day, but still I thought all the weirdos like me would go to it on a Friday night.

Yeah I'm going to see the Rotk and I have a group going in costume. so far it looks like we have one Strider, one Ranger (Me), one Hobbit and two women from Gondor and maybe some trolls or Orcs.

In my group we are going 5 People dressed to ROTK:

one dressed as Eowynn, with the white/brown dress from this movie
one dressed as pippin with his dress from FOTR
one dressed as Arwen, with the red blood,
and me as boromir, with the FOTR costume.

As we cannot carry swords, i'm going with a empty scabbard ! :(

I will post some pics from the premiere...

Anyone have pics of their costume from the movie? Once I can get a hold of a digital camera, I'll have mine. I've got part of my costume (minus the red shirt and jerkin/vest) in the gallery already.
