Yes! Yes! Yes! I've been Netflixing the Inuyasha movies and watch all three of those titles online, in Japanese. Much better in the original, I think. At least Inuyasha and I haven't seen Full Metal dubbed yet. Is it? My daughter and I are planning a Death Note weekend in two weeks when my husband and younger one are away on a camp-out. Break out the Ramune' and Pocky!

Just so you know, Inuyasha was never really finished. Unlike Naruto, even if you DO stick through all the fillers and episode upon episode, you won't find too much closure.

I strongly suggest not watching dubs (of ANY anime - my personal preference only) because they tend to take a lot of the intended traits of a character away.
Try watching D.Gray Man as well. It's still running and pretty fun to watch.

I suggest not watching Death Note, because after a certain event you just end up going "Why am I still watching this?"

If you want Inuyasha, then go for the manga, not the anime. The anime is unended (still waiting for Takahashi to pick it up again like she said she would), but the manga still goes on!

If you're going to watch a dub. Then the only one I can suggest is the Cowboy Bebop movie. The only dub I have ever considered any good.

    Here's a few anime/manga's I think people should personally watch/read:

    Cowboy Bebop - watch
    Trigun - watch
Great Teacher Onizuka - read (it's much better than watching it)
    Full Metal Alchemist - watch
    Full Metal Panic! - watch
One Piece - read or watch (probably the best Shonen out at the moment)
    Akira - read or watch
    Neon Genesis Evangelion - watch
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Watch (actually awesome)
    Maison Ikkoku - read

There's a fair few more which I think people should read/watch, but I'll leave that for later.

Problem I have found is that some sub are delibratly bad - forcing you to listend to the dubs (though usually the subs in these cases are not that bad) GITS 2 did this - the subs made little sense and appeared over simplified - the dubs on the other hand are far better.
Bebop I agree is definatly well cast on the dubs line! and its definatly worth watching!

The only anime I would add to mets list are:
    Ghost in the Shell
    Ghibli films!

Except just telling people to watch GitS by itself is completely pointless because without the rest of the series people won't really understand anythiing about the movies :S

Same with the Nausicaa in the Ghibli films.

how do you mean the rest of the series?
    oh wait I get you
films first (1 and 2) = then watch the mini series (though its sort of stand alone) and then the mini film - solid state

Also what do you mean about Nausicaa needing more series? I know many GHiblib are based on other tales, but each film is a complete whole with regard that one can watch and understand what is happening without further research

Except Nausicaa has a whole manga series of which the movie is based on. You really don't get to understand the characters aswell without reading them.

GitS was originally a manga series which then got adapted into 3 movies and an anime series. Again, the films by themselves do no justice to the thing, since you don't appreciate nor fully understand all of it.

Not to mention the Stand Alone complex movie is not the same timeline as the other 2 and is based on the TV series.

There's a lot more to GitS than those films.

true but the films tend to be easier to find than the manga at times ;)
There is no denying that most written stories are far deeper and superior in content to that of film - but I would say that whilst you don't get that same level of depth they are certainly deep enough to stand alone.

Also I think the (from haering from others) mini series of GITS was truer to the manga story line than the films though it does lack some of the depth - and yes the stand alone complex film is a tie in with the series -

Except the films by themselves don't portray the characters properly. I remember watching the first film and at the end of it going "Wait...what?" due to the ending.

I think I am the only Anime/manga lover who hasn't been able to warm upto Gits.

I think over the past 3 years, I've started watching the stand alone complex half a dozen times but I get bored within the first few episodes.
I think because I have nearly 200 different series, I give up easily because there's other anime's that get me interested from kick-off.

I've run out of anime until the end of the year (and dramas, too) with the exceptions of Kenshin and Gits.
I can't decide which to suffer through...

Don't suffer either. Go start watching Hajime no Ippo. Awesome boxing manga. It's fairly non-superhuman i.e. it sticks to the conventions of real world science. Although a lot of these boxers seem to have some amazing level of willpower lol

    Don't they all?

Boxing eh? Not something I find interesting, to be honest. Same reason I can't go near King of Tennis. I'll have to watch them (Gits and Kenshin) because I can't leave anything unfinished anyway. I started with Kenshin and I feel like I'm watching Inuyasha again. In fact, even Inuyasha had a main story to follow when the side ones got boring.
Kenshin doesn't seem to have ANY main story 12 eps in. I hope this changes >.<

King of Tennis? Oh dear Adina you hath failed. It is Prince of Tennis. Lol that manga was awesome. Some of us like to call it DBZ Tennis, due to the ridiculous moves they can pull off.

Hajime no Ippos is not like that. It's a really long running series and that had been recieved very well. Personally I think it's awesome and fawking hilarious.

Pfft Kenshin is lame, he's looks like a girl and isn't as cool as Kyo from SDK.

Haha right, right. PRINCE of tennis (oops!)
I'll give it a shot if you say it's that good. And I totally agree, Kyo is awesome, Kenshin is not.

PS. His eyebrows already irritate me :p

What annoys me about him is his lame unwillingness to kill stuff with that retarded reverse blade of his. It's like, "Why the hell did you become a samurai then and carry a foking sword around?".

I know you said there are more to add to that list but I had to mention Hellsing. It's one of my favourite anime/mangas, it is a masterpiece, it's hard to describe it, one just has to watch/read it to get the full awesomeness of it :D

@Adina: Not a fan of GITS? I watched the anime and the movies but have yet to work my way through the manga. I think it is a very interesting series, the characters all have distinct personalities and a lot of depth to them. But I guess to each their own ;p

I've read the first few chapters of Prince of Tennis a year or two ago and it wasn't that bad, I just never really got around to reading the rest of it.....just have to add it to my ever growing list of what to watch/read....

@Met: lol, I've never watched Kenshin but with all the bad things you say about it I probably don't intend to.

It's not so much that I dislike it, it just bores me. There's nothing making me want to watch the next episode.
I've watched anime's for 3 days straight without barely moving and ones much, much less popular that Gits. I really don't know why I find it so boring

    It's because you're a woman. :O

D9: Well a lot of people like Kenshin but I don't really know why. He looks like a girl, acts like a girl and in the most basic sense fights like a girl with that twattish Reverse Blade of his.
