In the previous forum I remember hearing that there was plans for a limited edition anduril that would be released first, and would then be followed by a release of Anduril with a different plaque that was not a limited edition.

Is there still going to be a limited edition of Anduril? And if so, is the one which we can pre-order now the limited edition or regular?

I want to preorder, but I really wanted the limited edition if there was going to be one, so if anyone knows, Swordsman in particular, please let me know.

    Thanks

I heard the same thing and like you I plan to get the limited edition. I hope they still do it.

I'd like to see pics of both versions of the plaque before I decide which to get. I need to see which one would go better with my Narsil and Shards.
I also don't know if they are still planning to do both versions. Larry?

I will wager that we won't see ANY pics of Anduril until November-- seems pretty consistent that New Line is requesting that merchandisers don't reveal any new ROTK things until the release. For example, the Sideshow King Elessar statue will ship in December, but they will not post any pics until November.

Which also tells you about the ship date for Anduril-- no way before November. Hopefully we will see some of the other items before Halloween though, since we all know what the Legolas Daggers and Hunting Knife look like...

Just wait one week until the release of TT. There is supposed to be a preview of rotk. I'm sure we will see Anduril!

    We will.

    **SPOILER WARNING**
How will "The Return of the King" start?

It will open up in a cave deep in Rivendell where Anduril is reforged!

Here is a quote from Nasnandos on another forum from yesterday about Anduril:

Anduril will be a limited edition of 5000 pieces. It comes with a metal and wood wall mount that is a bit nicer than other sword mounts, but still matches the line. I based the design on the chamfron that Aragorn's horse wears in ROTK.It has a feathered seabird crest and the tree of Gondor icon in gold. comes with a certificate signed by the incredible John Howe.

Well that's great. I was hoping for a limited piece, now I just need to save the money to get it before they're all gone. ;) When is Anduril supposed to come out? Is it really going to be before ROTK even comes out???

It's not fair. How is Joe Average supposed to save up for all these limited items? Both the helmets are limited, the Shards were limited, and now this. They'll be gone in no time.
I haven't been able to find a job since I graduated a year ago, and it's pretty difficult saving for a single ordinary sword (eg. Narsil) when you're on €100 a week dole money.

Witchy, I'd suggest collecting something a little cheaper than swords if I were you.

miniatures are also another option, they are very fine representations of the larger cousins.

Yes it's definately a chllenge being a senior in high school and having such an expensive hobby. Well worth it though and the thrill of having to save up every dime for a sword...just feels that much better when the blade finally arrives!!!

Hopefully it won't be a problem for much longer - I've joined up with an Engineering consultancy firm doing all their CAD work on a contract basis. Apparently I'd be looking at £200 ($315) a day per contract. Isn't that good timing?

Besides, there's no reason they couldn't extend the production run for more copies. I understand the low numbers increase collectability, though.

But the bigger ones make people go "Holy cr@p! Look at that!" when they walk into the room. Ya know?

Alright, so they make crap letter openers! They're too big!
    ;)

I know, not as impressive as the full sized swords, just pointing that out to everyone not jus you in particular. Lots of younger lotr fans are glad to see the minis, and it fits ther budgets too. I think it was a good move on UC part to add them to the selectins.

Do you think there'll be a mini hadhafang, ranger and anduril?
