I don't know much about photography, but I really like them, especially the last one and number 4, the clock.

talk about jumping in the deep end! night photography!
    I think I have - 10 shots maybe total from the night ! ;)
tis a tricky time to shoot. Idealy what you do want is to have a tripod under your camera (even a cheapy walmart one will do the job - just don't let get out of hands reach!) That will let you use slower shutter speeds and avoid motion blur.

the last shot is interesting and I am not sure what happened! I know that if you setup a camera for a very long exposure you can get startrails from the rotation of the earth - but in that shot all I can guess is that you moved whilst the shutter was open and the light from the starts was recorded from the sky and then the light from the tower (or the other way around) the starts have trails on them so that indecates motion.
Also what happened between the earlier shots and the latter ones (going by filename rather than the listing hear) the eariler shots appear good, but the latter ones your colours have changed - did you change shooting modes?

    good good :)
might be an idea to keep a diary/log of your shots -(I use my blog mostly) and to post up the settings you use (force yourself to look at them) and that way you can start to better understand what your camera is doing and how different settings are affecting your end result

hehe if you look in your flickr account you can see that it has read the exif and posted the data:
under Taken with on the righthand side there is more properties - click that for more info
aperture, shutter speed (exposure on yours), ISO, as well as exposure and flash compansations
those are the key settings to keep an eye on

keep it in your camera bag - the manual that is.
mine is still with me in my camera bag - its great to have it to hand if you want to check something or try a different feature. Much better to have it with you and not need it than to not have it and need it (and miss the shot for not having it)
