some meercats and then one or two birds - -unfortunatly the lions were out of range and the tiger and otters - they were too fast -- I need more practice with moving targets (I would try at home with the husky, but I don't want the risk of over energetic husky colliding with the camera man and the camera!!;)

alot different from american zoos, where the animals are more in pits, rather than glass.

and though pits sound evil, they're not.

these chaps had about the best pen on site - the rest -- well its an old Victorian Zoo in the middle of London -- go revamped at one point in the past with concrete! So its not the best of zoos - and space is limited!
Persaonlly I think they should move all the bigger animals out and put in things like a buttery fly house, aviory (they have a huge net up already), and lizard house (extended one). Things that basically don't need large amounts of space -- or in the case of hte birds already have a decent corner.

lions (2) and tigers (2) they also had, but their enclosures are older (contrete) ones and whilst they are larger, they are not large enough - plus they have that contcretey rustickness to them. I overheard that they have plans to rebuild sections of the zoo to use up waste space (ie where hundreds upon hundreds would crowed each day to gawp - now there are fewer patrons - so makes sense to reduce thier space;)
They did have Giraffs, but I did not see those

oo... cheetahs are quite cool, even if they are cats :D

my zoo just got a huge polar bear exibit, quite cool.

you get to walk through a tube that is underwater, and the polar bears swim around you.
