New York, New York, New York!

There's really no competition between the two.
Los Angeles is very spread out and totally lacks the dynamic energy and charm of New York. When you're in NY it's very much like being in London or Paris, it has loads of personality and character. The people take a little getting used to... like anywhere else I suppose.

If you ever come to America don't waste time in LA, you'll be disappointed... it's nothing like the movies. NY on the other hand sort of feels like the movies and can be a bit overwhelming. I don't know if I'd ever want to live there, but visiting NY was very exciting.

One of my best friends went to New York...well actually Hobboken in New Jersey, for about 10 days a couple of months ago and he really liked it.But it was very very cold back then.Thing is...I've seen lots of movies taking place in New York and lots of movies taking place in Los Angeles and...they're both fantastic cities, huge, with all kinds of races and people but I think LA has more gang and crime problems than New York,of course I could be mistaken.

    LA:
Gang wars, crime, huge mainstream industry, character-less concrete-blocks, poverty, uglyness, ugh - there's nothing there that's attractive. If you want beauty, culture, charme, AND sunshine, go to San Francisco instead.

    NY:
small, indy labels, artists, character inbetween the concrete blocks, not that much crime, the weather may be not as great as in LA - but there's lots of stuff to do.

    So: NY all the way!

I wouldn't really want to live in either. But I went for LA since that's where most of the big animation and visual effects studios are and that's where I want to work.

I do hear good things about NY. Seems that work-life balance is far more orderly than my country. Not to mention all those food trucks. Wait, am I correct on that final part?

P.S: AnalAlex, what took your comeback so long? -.-
