I was young when this first came out (11 I think) and I went on opening day. It was a packed theater. I have been hooked on Star Wars ever since. SW: A New Hope was an experience that helped open things up for sci-fi fans to get more of what they wanted.
Though I have to admit, I kind of go tupset when they killed off Obi-Wan. Man they could have at least done that in the second movie LOL

So, what are your thoughts on A New Hope?

I thought it was exceptionally good for its time. I would love to see a super-special edition, though, just to make it look even newer and up to par with today's special effects.

Yah, its kind of weird how they are more advanced in Ep I II and probably III

It was a good movie! Not my favourite of the 3 but still definitly good.

A heartwarming movie. I'd say a lot of boys wished they were Han, but related to Luke. I liked it, though it's not my favourite of the three.

This was high tech for it's time and will always be remembered for what it means to those of us who enjoyed it when it first came out..

I like it too and like most people here it isn't my favorite though.

I don't think that I would like to see one with so much special effects. People put too much into Special effects like in Episode 1 and II.

Yeah. I don't care how many special effects there are as long as the plot is good.
