So whose read it and what did you think?

Personally I thought it was another excellent addition to the series and once again I'm left eagerly awaiting the next installment. A Dance With Dragons which I'm hoping will be released soon.

This has been one of my all time favourite series I cant wait for more.

Well, I hate Brienne chapters, they are soo boring. Except maybe the last one.

Besides that, it's not so bad... Though it is my least favourite ASOIAF book.

I like Sam and Dorne chapters.

But some interesting characters are missing, of course... :(

I've read it AFFC only once, so I can't say too much about it yet.
I want to read it once or twice more like I did with the other books, to be able to read between the lines.
I'm so glad Sandor is still alive, to me that was the most important revelation of the book :D
I also like the worsening relationship between Jaime and Cersei. Finally at the age of 35 or so Jaime is becoming a man of his own.
Also nice to meet Jaqen again in this book.

There's more, but first I'm going to check the other ASOIAF threads.

Yeah Sam is one of my favourite characters.

Yeah there were some good characters missing but they will be there in A Dance With Dragons.

First i was a little disppointed by the book. But on rereads it gets better and better. Still not my favorite book, because I was exspecting something else.
I have heard this from so many people. Now i fell like that myself.

I especially like reading about the ironborn. Nasty people, but fun!

One of the things I liked about this book was the larger role of Ser Ilyn Payne. In the other books he simply used to be a flat character, but since Jaime took him to Riverrun, Payne has become a person, a not too nice one though... (in a way he reminds me of one of my highschool teachers). I like the way he makes a fool of Jaime.

Yeah it was good how they fleshed out his character. I enjoyed the sparring between him and Jaime. I wonder how long it will take Jaime to get good with his off hand.

Good book, I agree with Arianne, it's my least favorite book of the series, but still good. Overall, I found myself longing for a Dany chapter or a hint of the Others.

I agree with the sentiment expressed by many here that A Feast for Crows is not the best book in the series. The writing is great and all that, but as a reader whose favorite characters are: Jon Snow, Tyrion, and Daenerys, I found their absence painful.

I do like the deteriorating relationship between Cersei and Jaime. That is really cool to watch play out. I'm also impressed with Martin's skill with the character of Jaime. In the beginning, he was painted as a bad guy, but then as the story progressed, I became increasingly sympathetic toward him.

To the person who said that Brienne is soooo boring -- I could not agree more! I can't even figure out what Martin's fascination with that character is based on. She was mildly interesting back when Renly was killed, but I do not need any more ceaseless plodding chapters about her! That noose can't crack her neck soon enough in my opinion.

Despite the absence of my favorite characters and the preponderence of Brienne's presence, this fourth book rallied at the end and left me wanting more.

Ugh...Brienne totally turned me off AFFC--so much that I put it down halfway through and haven't picked it up again in six months. Is there anything so crucial that I have to read it to the end? *ducks* :D

    ps: Sandor's alive? w00t!

I won't give any spoilers, but you should continue reading. Sandor's fate is told in one of the Brienne chapters.

But IS it Sandor's fate? He said he buried the Hound, not Sandor Cleagane. *crosses fingers*

Anyway - where is this freaking book? I reread the Daenerys chapter posted on Martin's website last night. I NEED more ASoIaF. Where's my fix?!

I'm sorry to let you down, Appaliq, but in the chapter he says that, he mentions being with the Hound while he was dying of fever. That's how Arya left him. He also asked for wine, which is something that Sandor would do :(.

    Same here.

The wording in that chapter was interesting indeed. I've been trying to find my notes Kaelmarr, but no luck. The only thing I can say:

All the characters that have died are in parentheses in the back of AFFC, but Sandor isn't one of them. Maybe Martin left him out purposefully so we can all speculate. (Theon isn't either, and we're all fairly sure he's coming back right?)

I'm not saying the man Elder Brother tended wasn't Sandor Clegane. Rather that the part of Sandor Clegane that was the Hound died. In that sense, the Hound is dead. (Crackpot theory, but it's mine and I love it!)
