Well, my mother has so I guess a mere balrog's got one also.

At least it provides them with an excuse: complicated childhood.

So ya got two kids then eh? I also learned a great lot from my uncle, he teached me to smoke and how to drink alot without getting drunk. I don't know about the smoking, but the drinking sessions eventually saved my butt a few times in college.

I only wish he had waited for a few years with his lessons. I was nine y.o.

In the Lord of the Rings when Saruman is slain it's mentioned that he turned his face to west, but a hard wind came from there and blew him away, because he turned evil.

In one of the books, I believe it was one of the versions of Lost Tales Part II in the Sack of Gondolin or whatever the chapter title was, there were many many balrogs that took part in the Sack. However, in one of the footnotes Christopher stated that he believed, from scraps of notes his father had written before he died, that there were in fact at most only 7ish balrogs (5-8 balrogs or something like that).

don't see how that is possible, seeing how Tuor killed 5, Echelion (sp?) killed 4, and Glorfindel killed 1. There were others as well.

That was from LTPII, so it's already innaccurate as that is what Christopher corrected.

I don't quite get what you are saying?

Anyway, the BoLT 1 & 2 were basically rough drafts of the Sil. With that in mind there could be events that are different between the books. However, the story of the fall of Gondolin that is given in the Sil is pretty weak, most of our info. about this event comes from BoLT.

I think LT means lost tales.

Book of lost tales was put together by Christopher but the stories come from JRR alone, wasn't it?
