Vote for who you think would win in a 3-way droid fight, with IG-88, Grievous's personal MagnaGuards, and 2 droidekas.

I think the Magna Guards would win, the are way more advanced than super battle droids, alot more flexible than IG-88. The only upper hand droidekas have is shields. But they can be easily deactivated. As shown in the final battle of the Phantom Menace

I say IG-88. He had a bad reputation for a reason.

I say the magna-guards... but, uh, weren't they a variant on the "IG" designation? I seem to remember seeing this somewhere...

    edit:

    ah yes, the IG-100 Magna-Guard...

Actually, what I read was that IG-88 was a protocol droid (droid like Threepio) who was changed into becoming an assasin droid.

You're thinking of 4-LOM. For everything you need to know about IG-88, just click on Expanded Universe on the link in my first post. Also, not only do droidekas have shields, but they are also much faster (when curled up) than IG-88 and the MagnaGuards. BTW, IG-100 is older than IG-88 and they were both manufactured by Holowan Mechanicals.

EDIT: damn, I'm such a geek XD

That's it...cause I was doubting about it...cause you see IG models in the clone wars animated series...and they were certainly NOT protocol droids. lol

Are there any tabletop Star Wars games with respective stats for these droids? It'd be interesting to literally have them fighting each other, using the stats that Lucas Inc allocates them

from a game points of view, IG-88 would be the toughest, cause he's pretty hard to beat in shadows of the empire...

it also depends on the situation and how many MagnaGuards there are (I think Grievous usually has about 2 by him all the time, but I'm not sure) I just posted a thread asking for stats in another forum, so hopefully someone will tell me soon.

but look at the question...we're speaking of a battle...IG-88 might be a good bountyhunter, but is he really good in battle? I mean if you look at him he has a pretty fragile body. But maybe he would win, cause I think Magna Guards are really designed to fight Jedi as they don't use blasters but electro-poles. So from the distance IG-88 could just blast them away...Also Droidekas points a question cause they don't use very heavy blasters, the only advantage they really have is shields which could be knocked out easily.

See, that's why it depends on the situation. If this was a planned battle in an open arena, IG-88 would just bring something to deactivate the shields on the droidekas and then after destroying the defenseless droidekas fight against the MagnaGuards that would most likely defeat IG-88 due to the fact that there are more of them. If they all just happen to stumble across each other in a hallway, the droidekas would have the upper hand with their shields and rolling around easily along the corridors. But if the fight is on a more unstable terrain, the droidekas would be useless. I'd say the best fighting "arena" would be Polis Massa, where the droids are placed at 3 different points that suit them best for their abilities and even though they know about the upcoming battle, they are clueless as to what kind of opponent they are about to face.
