Haldir's Sword
As a huge fan of Haldir's sword, I have been patiently waiting for more pic.s to be released on TTT:EE dvd. However, I recently got the Helm's Deep action figure pack with Haldir. I have taken a few pic.s of him and his sword in comparision to other elven weapons.
It seems to me that his sword is a combination of hadhafang and the Elven Warrior Spear. It has a similar handle to Elrond's sword. But, the blade size and shape is very close to the blade on the Elven Warrior Spears used during the Last Alliance. Also, the vine design on the blade is reminicent of both. Here are the pic.s: Haldir action figure Haldir sword vs. Elven Warrior Sword Haldir sword vs. Hadhafang Haldir sword vs. both Haldir sword vs. Elven Weapons What do you think Haldir's sword looks like the most? And would you purchase it if it were a released as a limited edition after ROTK?

The third and fourth links are the same.
I think I like it more than Hadhafang, especially the handle. It will be good to see pictures of the real thing in a couple of months. Last edited by OBSERVER; 09-03-2003 at 10:40 PM. |

Looks a lot like hadhafang! SO if they make Haldir's sword will it be the same kind of display as hadhafang or will it be a wall mount?

I also have the Haldir figure. I was never a big fan of the sword till now. It's great. I never really like Hadhafang or the EWS, and this one is great. Two-handed, more manly-looking Hadhafang. I'd buy it if UC released it.

the general consesus from the old fanforum (rip) was that it was a combo of both. To me it looks like an exaggerated Hadhafang.

I've always wanted it and I really hope UC makes it, though it won't be for a while I'm guessing.

I love Haldir's sword as well and I think that we should keep our opinions out there LOUDLY as well as starting a petition.
I have seen the thought of Boromir's sword go from no mention of it possibly being made to Kit himself talking about making it from all the noise people made about it so... let's do the same with Haldir's sword. KIT WE NEED THIS SWORD MADE!!!!!!!!!!!! |

It kind of reminds me of the dagger that Galadriel gave to Merry and Pippin. Plus the one that was given to Aragorn.

Haldirs sword is about half as long again as Hadhafang. The handle is a redder colour with a simple vine design similar to EWS, but not exactly thr same, the curve on the blade is a little different with the lower tang quite a bit further away from the handle than Hadhafang, I would say it is 2 handed. It does not have runes but a simple gold curve ending in a bud in gold etch om the blade. The handle is of course midway in length between the other two mentioned, and is capped similar to Hadhafang. That is what I remember if its of any interest.

Is this not Haldir's Sword?
Haldir's Sword in Gallery Looks a lot different to Hadhafang here. Not in shape but I mean look at the handle etc. No readness there. Dunno where the picture came from. Must see if it's anywhere on the extended DVD. Probably the TTT one though. By the way the poll isn't multi choice enabled.
