Hehe. Well, the guy who used it in the TV series was supposed to be Conan. But he definitely wasn't the Conan that anyone with good taste knows and loves. Or even saw, for that matter.

Well. Another post where people dont like Frostmoure. Its a great piece of artwork. It doesnt matter that you cant accually use it. It doesn't look bad at all. I dont think theres anything wrong with it. Dont forget this is fantasy and anything is possible. I mentioned on the other post that I was going to have it made once I get enough money for it

fantasy

n 1: imagination unrestricted by reality; "a schoolgirl fantasy" [syn: phantasy] 2: fiction with a large amount of fantasy in it; "she made a lot of money writing romantic fantasies" [syn: phantasy] 3: something many people believe that is false; "they have the illusion that I am very wealthy" [syn: illusion, phantasy, fancy]

Re: The Most Unrealistic Sword(Please post picture)

Anyone here watched Inu Yasha? check out the "Tetsusaiga" Oh, not in the normal form i mean, i mean the transformed full-blown, wolf-fang form. Then again, it's a fantasy, and maybe one of the best ever written, so anything goes!

Re: The Most Unrealistic Sword(Please post picture)

Light-sabers are actually not that unrealistic...the same laser technology they use for surgical procedures are pretty much what the lightsaber concept is. Granted, there's a lot of advancement needed to harness that much power into a 10" power cell, but it's not unrealistic...it's about as "unrealistic" to us as the television, radio and internet would be to 19th century people.

Re: The Most Unrealistic Sword(Please post picture)

I would disagree. Lightsabers are supposedly lasers and no matter how intense they are another laser would not stop it in mid air.

Not only that, but a laser intense enough to cut through metal the way lightsabers do would not stop beaming after three feet.

Re: The Most Unrealistic Sword(Please post picture)

well, to be geeky, the lightsabers (according to the hopelessly addicted to the lucas-verse) are not lasers in fact, but a loop of energy. Some sort of magnetic field contains the blade, so that the inner part of the projection disc projects the energy, then sucks it back down onto the outer edge of the disc. This also explains why lightsabers never run out of energy almost, cuz the energy is recycled. All this is paraphrased from a book on weapons and technology of star wars.

That does help explain the length of the 'blade'. But even with that explanation, assuming you had a magnetic field strong enough to make a loop of energy, and assuming that other loops of energy with their own magnetic fields cannot pass through it, what would happen to any metal in the area? That would have some pretty spectacular effects, I would think. Maybe they really did made their space stations and armor out of plastic.
