Anduril that sword form warcraft 3 doesn't look so unrealistic.....except you would need some one like arnie (terminator style) to wield it.....or an orc (as shown in the pic)

Heh, I believe the most unrealistic sword would have to be Cloud's Sword...Lol, any of'm, they're all crazy. Then again...the sword from the "Berserk" Anime is pretty messed as well (sorry, no pics).

Personally, I detest the Marto "version" of Conan's Atlantean sword. The original Jody Samson creation rocks, but Marto... well, words fail me. It's so un-barbarian-ish. It's like they expect Conan to be wandering the aisles at Macy's or FAO Schwartz, battling evil in aisle 12 or something. Dreadful.

It doesn't really shoot, the "gun" portion is a focus for the magic. That's the beauty of working in a fantasy setting: no reality boundaries to worry about.

By the way, at the end of the Frozen Throne there's a duel between Arthas with Frostmourne and an Elf with two curved swords. And Arthas of course is swinging that thing around quicker than you could a ranger sword.

You would be suprised how fast a well trained user can move even a big sword. The person who originally trained me to swordfight was partial to scottish claymores - not exactly small weapons! But he could get that thing going unbelievably fast. Fast enough to compete with rapier and katana users.

While I agree that sword is a bit unrealistic, is not that bad...

Some of Kit Rae and Gil Hibben's stuff can look sort of like Frost Mourne..
Maybe if it was made out of a lighter material. Dont forget the sword is magic and the wielder is possesed.....

I saw a guy wielding a claymore and he was moving very fast.

But now that I think of it, the Jason and the Argonauts sword reminds me of Frostmourne.

That sword isn't actually supposed to be the Atlantean. There was a really horrible television series a while back, which pretty much no one watched, where they used a sword like that. So Marto's sword is actually an officially licensed reproduction, just not from the movies.
