As part of its on-going celebration of the 50th anniversary of the original U.S. publication of The Fellowship of the Ring (the first part of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic The Lord of the Rings), Houghton Mifflin, Tolkien's official U.S. publisher for over sixty years, is proud to tour world-renowned artist Alan Lee across the United States. Lee has won international acclaim for his illustrations of Tolkien's books, and he was also one of the conceptual designers on New Line Cinema's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, for which he earned an Academy Award.
