The Silent Battle

Curved towers stretch the sky
Roof tiles in colours rare
Strong grey stone of eerie shades
Create walls thick with a mysterious world.

At the peak of the soaring towers
Flags dance the waltz in the wind
A symbol to the large population outside
Of the engulfing glory given to those within

But the common folk dwelling near by
Are oblivious to the havoc that reigns
Traditional beliefs reject thoughts for weak tyranny
Decades of oppression still strong

It will remain identical
For the latter of the peasants lives
The castle is a god of invincibility
Only when viewed from afar

Within its constraining limits
The silent battle continues to rage.
