JK Rowling is to give a moonlight book signing to mark the publication of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.

The author will meet Potter fans at the Natural History Museum in London on July 21.

The event will begin at midnight and last until dawn.

Fans can apply for free tickets via publisher Bloomsbury’s website, www.bloomsbury.com/jkrevent, with June 11 the deadline for applicants.

A total of 1,700 will be chosen.

All will get a free copy of The Deathly Hallows and have it signed by Rowling.

The first 500 randomly selected winners will also be invited to attend a midnight reading of the book by the author.

“Ten years after publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the launch of this, the final book in the series, returns to where it all began: with a book, the author and her readers,” Bloomsbury said.

This is the seventh and last instalment in the adventures of Rowling’s schoolboy wizard.

Its publication is set to spark unprecedented scenes of Potter mania.

Rowling has said two characters die in the final book – and fans will be desperate to discover if Harry is one of them.

The Potter books have sold 325 million copies worldwide, have been translated into 64 languages and spawned five blockbuster films.

Rowling marked publication of the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, with a midnight launch at Edinburgh Castle in 2005.

Hmm, I'm guessing it may be 2 of the weasley's that die, or someone else that is very close to harry..my point is, Voldemort may try and weaken harry by attacking his heart first.

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE – OPEN CASTING
On Sunday 1st July and Sunday 8th July, the makers of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (HP6) will be having two open casting days for two key roles in the next film at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre from 10am to 1pm.
They are looking for someone 15-18 years to play LAVENDER BROWN. Casting 1st July.
They are looking for someone 15-18 years to play Tom Riddle. Casting 8th July.

I don't like the idea of Harry dying, what would be the point of giving Ron a younger sister that was the first female of her family for centuries (she put this on her site!) if only to kill of the guy that she's only just got as a boyfriend? Doesn't make any literary sense to me.

What does make literary sense is Ron dying. There has been SO many clues dropped in the previous books (particularly GoF!) that points to Ron being the one to snuff it.

Anyhow, as long as it isn't Snape, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Molly, Draco, Hermione, Harry, Ginny, and Neville then I don't really care who lives or dies.

As for looking for a 15-18 year old to play Tom. I thought Christian Coulson had signed up to play the part already. Surely they don't need TWO actors with only a few years apart to play the same part? Tom Felton is nearing Twenty and he's still playing Draco.

I read actually that the manuscript of the last harry potter book has been stolen and that the text has been spread across the internet...I'm not sure if that is true though although it came from a reliable source.
