Labyrinth / Alice in wonderland- Every Rose Has There Thorns

Here's my fanfiction for Labyrinth called "Every Rose Has It's Torns". It a colaboration between me DragonQueen and her sister, they helped me with ideas. I wrote it...It's a strange mix between Labyrinth and Alice In Wonder Land.

Prologue :Mighty Oak



"You aren't even worth my time, it seems that you think you have a say in my actions." An deadly whisper seem to escape from the sneer that graced her face, her eyes narrowing on the small man that sat behind an mighty oak desk. "This isn't the way you treat your superiors young women!" His voice starting to pick up on the strain that was apparent in the throbbing vein in his neck. She was mocking him completely and him knew it. He watched her as she examined her nails, an small smile playing across her lips. "Oh! Don't be so daft, but what ever made you think you were my superior?" her joyous voice rang in his ears, and she flashed him, an dazzling smile. Taking the time to uncross her legs and pull herself to her feet. Silently she made her way to the right side of the desk pausing before she continued on behind moving her hand to touch the chair , her hands slowly playing across the leather of it's winged back . "Take an seat! This isn't the conduct we instill in our girls Ms. Grey. I don't know what they thought you in Paris, but this isn't the whore house your use to." His voice more than slightly fretful, as his faced went a few shades beyond beat red. Before he knew it her hands cupped his face and her cheek hot against his. Her breath hot on his ear as she whispered " My name isn't Vanessa Grey, but it is Tantrix Lilith Grey and you will do well not to confuse the two." Keeping her cheek pressed against his own, only moving her hands slowly not avoiding his shoulders in the process of griping the back of the chair. Tantrix smiled to herself as all she could hear were small almost inaudible gulps. " While were being honest, I think it's my duty to tell you that you are an sniveling worthless mouse. Of mice and men, isn't that right headmaster?" her voice sang as she shoved the chair as hard as she could, send it careening into the wall. The loud thud echoed though the large lavish office, one frame inpraticular crashing against the floor. Quickly she pushed herself back on the desk, her hands seemed to fly deshelving her own cloths. Rubbing her eyes as if she were crying, small nosies that resembled sobs filled the room. "Ms. Grey." he wasn't able to finish, before her cold eyes met his. Her eyes glinting as if she knew something he didn't , but they never left his. The door flew open, the small secretary stood in the door way. Tantrix hands flew to her face as the small sobs continue to mock the silence of the room. Curling up on the desk as if she just wanted to craw into herself. His secatary rushed across to the girl, her questioning eyes met the headmaster's. "It isn't want you think." His mouth gaped . " To hell it isn't!" The secretary shouted as she gathered Tantrix into her arms. " It wasn't what you think!" he screamed taking more than a few seconds to remove himself from the room. " Is he gone?" Tantrix choked voice called. "Yes" the voice of the secretary returned carefully. Stretching slowing in the secretary's arms, Tantrix dipped her hand in her shirt and retrieved a couple of hundred dollar bills. "Amanda, I applaud you." Tantrix quietly purred as she slipped the slight mound of money into in the secretary's hands. " I assure you Miss Grey that everything is in place and you will be out of the UK by nightfall." the words smoothly pour forth though an Cheshire grin. Tantrix still embraced by the impish women, leaned forward pecking the older women on her cheek. Pulling back slightly her smile broadening "That will be all."




Chapter 1: Who's Line is it anyways?



An soft smile was the first thing to greet each child as one by one they piled into her drama class. Her features wise, but still held the grace of youth that her blue eyes seemed to burn with. Long dark brown hair swung around as the echo of the bell though the halls." High School kids, easy girl just think of it as another day , another dollar" she quietly sighed to herself. " This is a monumental moment! The last bell of the first day of the rest of your lives, there simply won't be another moment like this." The women know to her students as Ms. Williams announced. " I believe it's time to break the ice. My name is Sarah Williams, I am in my early thirty's. Wait. Starch that very early thirties. Thankfully! I am not married, but I do find that I am raising my younger brother Toby." Finishing her statement pointing at Toby, who had been working quietly behind her desk. " This is Toby's independent study, so of course I will be recruiting him to help me with teaching you the in's and out's of the brilliant masquerade that is drama." Sarah voice still clear as a bell. Looking over at Toby she felt something tug on her heart, what parts of his face that where not half hidden by his shaggy straight hair had turned an radish red. Toby made an slight wave after looking to Sarah as if you say ' Geee…Thanks!'. Toby was about to make his introduction when the old oak door groan loudly, everyone attention in the class room seemed drain off him as an girl entered that room. After closing the door, taking an seat at the nearest possible chair in the back of the room. All eyes were on her, not that Toby wasn't thankful for the save she had just provided him. Toby couldn't place it, she wasn't what you would call an natural beauty. Only because natural beauty's didn't drop slight hints of having dark purple hair or, wear lime green eye shadow. She was an total stranger, but she felt very familiar. He watched her as she took in her surroundings, but was complete off guard when she said "It looks as if you find me quite festinating and I will admit that I am, but you may continue on with what ever you were doing." Her voice clear with a board tone. Sarah's eyes widened for a moment before continuing on " Okay! So I'm going to pass an pieces on notebook paper around for attendance , since we have a tragically shorten period due the assembly." Sarah stated with a smile, before asking Toby to rip a page from his note book and pass it around. "Well, I guess it would only be right for me to tell you what exactly we will be covering in this class. I'm planning on teaching you to recite monologues, and of courses we will look into some plays." Her voice rang with excitement as she paced in front of the class. Suddenly turning around to face the them, Sarah's hands flew to her hips. " Although I must admit there is a toss up in which play we will be doing at the end of the semester. It's ether Rent or Labyrinth, but I'm secretly rooting for Labyrinth! Any questions?" She was amused when more then an handful of hands shot up in the air. Sarah pointed to an boy in the second row, who's hand couldn't make up it's mind weather to be raised or not. The boys eyes widen with shock as he realized that he had just been call upon to ask. " Forgive me, but I have been reading plays for a long time now and I have never heard of this Labyrinth." the boy managed to mutter. Sarah gave an huge cheese grin before turning around and heading to her desk. Opening one of her drawers she pulled out a small red book and held it up. " This is the Labyrinth! It's filled to the brim with Goblins and Fairies, critters big and small, but not least of all it centers around an girl that best the evil goblin king at his own game the 'Labyrinth'." Sarah looked at Toby and instantly he knew what she was going to ask.

" Sarah not now!" Toby cried.

"Please Toby, you know all the lines." Sarah said whined slightly under her breath.

"Fine" Toby reply get up from the desk. Once again all eyes were on him, at the moment it sucked to be Toby Williams.

Sarah placed the small red book on her desk and grabbing Toby's shoulder leading him with her to the front of the class. Sarah turned on him, looking him square in the eyes " Though dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City, for my will is as strong as yours. And my…"

"Stop!" Toby cut her off in a harsh tone before continuing "Wait! Look Sarah. Look what I'm offering you…your dreams."

Sarah's eyes flash, for a moment she hoped to see the mismatched eyes of Jareth. Taking a deep breath, her voice just a bit ragged she continued. "And my kingdom as great.".

"I ask for so little. Just let me rule you and you can have everything that you want" Toby finish his word like an doubled edge sword against Sarah's memory. Sarah paused from a few seconds about to continue when the announcements for the assembly rang in her ears. Before she could stutter and other word, more than half of the class had made their way out into the halls leavening only herself and a few stragglers. Toby returned to working behind her desk, but Sarah couldn't shake this strange feeling.

"My Kingdom as great, You have no power over me. Next time you might want to try an finish your lines." An smooth voice resisted the lines as if it were the most natural thing to say. Sarah looked up to the mismatched eyes over the girl that had come in late. Shock made a quick set up in Sarah's chest, those eyes. " Well, if you wouldn't mine taking this filthy paper off my hands, ill be on my way." The girl replied in an almost harsh tone, shoving the crumbled paper into Sarah's hands. Then turned on a dime and walking calmly out into the hall way.

Sarah looked down at the crumbled papers she held, scanning the list till she came upon the last name Tantrix Grey. Taking a deep breath Sarah tried to slow her heart, she had a very strange feeling about this new girl. " Toby I think you should go instead of staying here with me."

Late to read this of coarse, but I thought it was pretty good. Definitely good enough to continue. Try breaking up some of the text though. Those big blocks get a little hard to read.
