Re: swordfighting in england

Are you kidding? The UK is huge for reenactment!

If you'r enot interested in historically accurate costumes but want to learn "real" historical fighting methods, try http://www.thearma.org/

if you're looking for hisorically accurate costumes with some non-historically accurate fighting, try here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...actment_groups
http://www.themcs.org/links.htm

These will be a starting point, once you find ne group, they will know of others, and you can shop around until you find one you like the feel of. Different groups have different people, some are nice, some are real buttholes, just like every othe rwalk of life

Re: swordfighting in england

Find a Living History group, just look around, you would be hard pressed NOT to find a UK group of some sort if you actually try.

Do a Youtube search for "Schola Gladiatoria"

What are we?

We are martial artists, using historical sources to assist our training.

We train primarily in order to learn fighting skills for ourselves, not to put on displays or entertain the public.

We train in modern clothes and use modern safety equipment where necessary.

Our fighting systems are historical and real.

Re: swordfighting in england

Hey, where abouts in the UK are you? Regardless try Medievel Seige Society, The Knight Shop has a link to a one-day sword fighting course, I'll keep in touch if I think of anything else.
