Saladin had many ambitions in his 28 years of life. From being a private tutor to dreaming of being an accountant, and for that moving abroad, but ended up being a retail worker. He too dreams of being a stand-up comedian with his silly sense of humour. Though, he fails miserably to tell jokes.

But he was always passionate about two things; Reading and writing. His interest in reading started from his parent’s bookshelf with the kid’s story books and magazines. From that his reading passion travelled through the comics, teenage thrillers, horror to western, thrillers, fantasy, classics and general fiction. Sometimes he reads some non-fiction and thinks there is still hope about his life somewhere.

Saladin started writing with poems. He did silly things to get inspiration to write poems until he discovered the blog called somewhereinblog.net where people bother to read stranger’s poems. He went on a poem craze and with many light bulb moments he wrote a lot of poems between 2007 and 2009. He then started writing short stories in Bengali language.

He carried on writing poems after moving to the UK. But life here brought many ups, downs and turnings too. So, he had lost his enthusiasm of writing.

After five years his inner self, rose again. He wrote a kid’s book as an experiment, in English. Which was also inspired by the birth of his daughter. And recently, he had finished writing his first fantasy novel, ‘Son of The Prisonland.’ There’s a long story behind it. And he is hoping to reveal it to the world someday.

Saladin Siddiqui originated from Bangladesh. Currently he lives in a small town near Manchester with wife and two and a half-year-old daughter.
